They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so when you have those early morning classes and you need something quick, how about a smoothie? This smoothie is easy to take on the go and will help you energize and get you the fruity nutrition you need to start the day. Green tea provides just a touch of caffeine and almond milk gives you some protein. Try adding chia seeds, which have no taste, for extra fiber and vitamins.

  • 3 tablespoons of water
  • 1 green tea bag
  • 2 teaspoons of honey
  • 1 ½ cups frozen blueberries
  • 1 banana
  • ¾ cup of almond milk or regular milk
  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds

Microwave water in a bowl/mug for about 1 minute and 30 seconds, then steep green tea bag for about 3 minutes.

Add berries, banana, milk and chia seeds and blend on high until smooth

Add green tea and honey and blend until you reach the desired consistency

Tip: Don’t have a blender? The perfect and affordable option is a single serving blender that even turns into a travel cup. A great brand is Hamilton Beach, with single serve options available at stores like Walmart for around $15.
