You know that feeling when you’ve hopelessly fallen in love with that person you met once in the sandwich line at Hope and proceeded to stalk on social media until you’ve memorized their birthday and favorite band’s name?

You realize pretty quickly that accurately summarizing these newfound (and potentially unwanted) romantic feelings is practically impossible. Or maybe you’ve already found that special someone and this Valentine’s Day you’re looking for the perfect way to say those three little words for the first time. You probably have no idea how to say “ily” without sounding like a complete fool (or resorting to text-speak). Have no fear- the following are songs that will set the romantic mood.

1) “Sexy Can I” by Ray J: This musical love maker was released in December of 2007 and has been a game-changer for many couples. Play this song to remind your loved one how special they are to you. WARNING: Be sure to prepare your camera in advance! Playing “Sexy Can I” has been known to result in a “Kodak moment”.

2) Buy You a Drank by T-Pain: For those who are looking for the perfect way to introduce themselves this Valentine’s Day, bump and grind your way to his/her heart with this song. T-Pain perfectly demonstrates how to introduce yourself to that special someone. Start with, “Baby girl, what’s your name?” If they start walking away, try to grab their attention one more time with the line, “Let me talk to you, let me buy you a drank”. Once you’ve captured their attention hit ‘em with, “I’m so-and-so, you know me”. End with asking them, “What’s the chance of you rolling with me?” Playing this song in bae’s presence pretty much guarantees them leaping into arms while you both ride off into the sunset. CHEAT: actually buy him/her a drink. An iced coffee from Dunkin’ to be exact. They’ll love it. If they don’t, they aren’t worthy of the title of “bae”.

3) Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake: For those of you currently in a relationship and are looking to bring back the spark in your relationship, blast this wonder for your lover and watch in amazement as their eyes widen with the realization you’ve brought sexy back. Your boy/girl might be thinking that it’s time to call it quits, but if you tell her “I’m bringing sexy back, them other boys(/girls) don’t know how to act” they’ll have no reason to believe anyone else can treat them better.

BONUS: For those of you who may not be romantically inclined and would rather be hurtling a box of chocolates at your TV Elle Woods’ style, or are more about the half off chocolate sale on Feb. 15th, we didn’t forget about you! “Love is Overrated” by Shwayze is a perfect song for you to jam out to.

Shwayze’s lyrics are perfectly relatable for those of you who are so done with relationships. This song’s island vibe is perfect for relaxing to after a long, tiring day of stomping on roses.
