Police Beat: 11/2-11/7

Thursday, Nov. 2:

At 12:45 a.m. the assistance of the URI Police was needed at CVS. The alarm went off, however there was no break in and the building was secure.

At 3:44 p.m. there was a stolen item at Hope Dining Hall. A girl left her wallet on a chair and it was gone when she got back.

At 5:14 p.m. a fire alarm went off at Garrahy Hall on Flagg Road. However, it was a false alarm.

 

Friday, Nov. 3

At 3:26 p.m. there was another laptop stolen at the library. This is currently being investigated.

At 3:57 p.m. there was a vandalism report at a sorority house, Chi Omega. A vehicle’s back window was smashed. However, no items were stolen in the vehicle.

At 7:36 p.m. there was another larceny report, this time at ZTA; the greek letters were stolen. This is currently being investigated.

At 11:27 p.m. there was a drug offense at Browning Hall. Marijuana and alcohol were found. A report was filed.

 

Saturday, Nov. 4

At 1:21 a.m. there was a motor vehicle stop on 138 at Old North Road. The driver’s license was suspended, and the driver was then arrested.

At 8:32 p.m. there was a drug offense reported at Burnside Hall. Marijuana and alcohol were both found. A notification was given.

At 11:38 p.m. there was another drug offense, this time at Gorham Hall. A bong was found and a report was filed.

 

Sunday, Nov.5

At 12:02 a.m. there was a bong found at Gorham Hall. A report was filed.

At 1:03 p.m. an alarm went off at the library. It was a false alarm and the campus police secured the room.

 

Monday, Nov. 6

At 2:05 p.m. there was a property damage report on Flagg Road. A car door had scratches on it. A report was filed.

At 7:30 p.m. there was a suspicious activity report at Eddy Hall. A threatening note was found, similar to the bomb threat found a couple weeks ago. A report was filed.

 

Tuesday, Nov.7

At 3:37 a.m. there was a report of suspicious activity on Aquarium Road. A man was found sleeping in his car. Turns out, the man was homeless. A verbal warning was necessary.
