Police Beat: 11/8 to 11/15

Wednesday, Nov. 8:

At 4:34 p.m. there was a motor vehicle accident on Flagg Road. This is currently being investigated.

At 1:11 p.m. a disturbance was called in from Heathman Hall. There was a verbal argument in a dorm room. A report was filed.

At 5:17 p.m. there was a drug offense at Heathman Hall. During a fire inspection, a bong was found. A report was then filed.


At 8:24 p.m. there was a report of a suspicious person at Faculty Circle. A male was found trying to open car doors around the lot. The man was gone when campus police arrived.

Thursday, Nov. 9:

At 10:10 a.m. vandalism was reported at Ellery Hall. A vending machine was broken.

At 10:49 p.m. there was a medical emergency at Hope Commons on Butterfield Road. The URI police arrived at 10:53 p.m. and help was rendered.

Friday, Nov. 10:

At 12:09 p.m. there was an alarm that went off at Quinn Hall. A door was found open and the building was checked and secured.

At 3:21 p.m. a vandalism was reported on Greenhouse Road. A vehicle was damaged.

At 5:50 p.m. there was a drug offense at Barlow Hall. This is being investigated and there is no further information yet.

At 11:44 p.m. there was a medical emergency at Merrow Hall on Butterfield Road.

Saturday, Nov. 11:

At 12:14 a.m. a fire alarm went off at White Hall. Apparently, the heat in the building was too high and the alarm sounded.

At 1:50 a.m. another alarm went off at White Hall. However, this was a misuse of the alarm.

At 8:57 p.m. there was a fire at EMS on Tootell Road. Someone caused an electrical fire. A report was filed.

Sunday, Nov. 12:

At 1:41 a.m. an open door was discovered. The police were contacted and the building was secured.

At 3:49 a.m. alcohol abuse was reported at Bressler Hall. Medical assistance was needed and a report was filed.

At 9:05 p.m. there was a drug offense report at Browning Hall. More drug paraphernalia was found, specifically a bong. A notification was given.

Monday, Nov. 13:

At 1:48 a.m. there was a medical emergency at the Alpha Phi sorority on Lower College Road due to alcohol abuse. They were transported to the hospital.

At 5:14 a.m. there was a break in to the Athletic Building. There was an open door but the building was secured.

At 1:38 p.m. there was a larceny report at the library. Another laptop was stolen. A report was filed.

Tuesday, Nov. 14:

At 1:20 a.m. there was a suspicious activity report filed on Keaney Road because of marijuana use. This is being investigated.

At 3:58 p.m. there was another larceny at the library. This, along with all the other thefts in the library, are being investigated.

At 5:50 p.m. there was a drug offense reported at fraternity circle because someone smelled marijuana. No action was required.
