An apology to our readers

We’d like to apologize for our recent publication of “Senate president jumps off union clock tower” in our satire edition.  It  was deeply insensitive and a poor lapse of judgement on behalf of the organization.  It was never the Cigar’s intention to make light of serious mental health issues, and we sincerely apologies to everyone who may have been offended by the article – especially those who are battling depression or other mental health issues. We have since retracted the article from our website.  If you or anyone you know is struggling with depression or suicidal thoughts, please reach out for help by calling the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-8255.

Again, we are deeply sorry for gross insensitivity we showed towards those battling mental health issues.  We’re sorry for straining our relations with the community and we will work hard to regain your trust.
