Albiani’s Take

Negatives:

Players of the Week:

Shelby Aarden (17th overall at Atlantic 10 Championship) – Aarden was the highest finisher for both the men’s and women’s cross country teams.

Tyler Dickson (2-1 win vs Duquesne) – Congratulations to the sophomore, who took only his third career shot, scoring one of the biggest goals of his life. The double overtime thriller allowed the Rams to remain in third place with a chance at a top four seed in the Atlantic 10 championships.

Harold Cooper (20-17 loss @ University of New Hampshire) – Cooper finished with 222 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns for the Rams. The super sophomore had 99 rush yards, 48 receiving yards, and 77 kick return yards. He also ended the game with 1,000 rushing yards for his career.

Team of the Week: URI men’s soccer (win vs Duquesne) – The Rams won their second straight match and fourth in their last five games. The win also put them in the Atlantic 10 Championships, and left them with a very good chance at solidifying a top four seed with a win in the finale at George Mason.

Off the Record:  Time to shine some light on the Bruins who have won six of their last seven games, including starting 5-0 on the road. The Bruins have the third most goals in the NHL with 39, despite playing in the fewest amount of games thus far. In their last three games they have outscored opponents 12-2.
