Albiani’s Take

Positives:

Negatives:

Players of the Week:

Janel Conley (Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships) – Conley had a standout day at a time when the stage was among the biggest. The senior was crowned champion in the 60-meter hurdles and the high jump.

Jared Terrell (77-74 win vs Duquesne) – Terrell finished with 20 points making it his sixth 20-point game in the last eight. Terrell also distributed five assists, and shot 3-for-6 from the 3-point line.

Becca Rogers (2-1 win vs Lafayette) – The freshman starting pitcher threw six innings of one-run ball, allowing the two runs and three hits Rhody put up to stick. She also only gave up one extra base hit on the day.

Team of the Week: URI men’s and women’s track teams (Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships) – Normally I do not give multiple teams the team of the week honor, but it would be unfair to pick between two evenly matched performances. The men’s team won their 20th championship, while the women’s team narrowly missed out on winning the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships.

Off the Record:  After being 0-23 on the road versus the Western Conference in the previous 23 games, the Celtics are now 10-10 in their last 20 games.
