In the University of Rhode Island’s department of chemistry, the Hayes Group conducts research with ultrafast spectroscopies. In their most recent experiment, the group exposed ferrate (VI) to ultraviolet light. This study was published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society because the results were vital and may be utilized to treat water supplies.
