On Wednesday, Sept. 13
At 9 p.m., officers responded to a call of a weapons violation at Gorham Hall on Complex Road. A female student was in possession of a stun gun which her father had given her. Under university policies, a stun gun is a weapon and it was confiscated.
On Thursday, Sept. 14
At 7:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of marijuana smell at Weldin Hall on Campus Avenue. However, the smell was gone when they arrived at the location. No charges were filed.
Officers also responded to a disturbance call at the Ryan Center at 8:30 p.m. An official report was filed on the issue.
On Friday, Sept. 15
Officers arrived to Fayeweather Hall 12:03 a.m. to respond to a drug offense call. The perpetrators were gone before the officers arrived.
Police returned to Fayeweather Hall later in the day at 4:59 p.m. in response to an animal complaint. The call was in regards to bees in one of the dorm rooms.
At 9:40 p.m., university police assisted in serving a warrant to a student in Ellery Hall. However, it was unfounded as the student was not in their room.
On Sunday, Sept. 17
At 12:13 p.m., officers responded to a vandalized vehicle at URI HAZMAT on Flagg Road. A report for the vandalism was filed.
The alarm in the Memorial Union went off twice – once at 6:23 p.m. and again at 6:45 p.m. Police responded to the alarm call in case of burglary but found it to be a false alarm.
On Monday, Sept. 18
Police responded to four different motor vehicle accidents on Monday: two on Plains Road 11:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., another at 4:57 p.m. on West Alumni Road and finally one on on Briar Lane at 5:31 p.m. No one was injured in any of the accidents.
At 11:16 p.m. a report was filed at the Police Station on Briar Lane for an assault. The report is currently under investigation and the officers could not provide any more information.
On Tuesday, Sept. 19
A drug offense was investigated at 7:29 p.m. at Peck Hall on Butterfield Road. Nothing was found.
