On Oct. 6, the MSSC hosted a celebration of Mexican culture “¡Fiesta Méxicana!”, as part of Hispanic Heritage month. The event educated attendees on Mexican-American culture. Many students attended the event who were curious to learn about traditional Northern Mexican music from a mariachi band and enjoy free tacos from “Tacos de Rosa.”
Connecticut’s first mariachi band Fiesta del Norte played for students. The band features a trumpet player, a guitarrón méxicano and vocals, and a guitarist and vocalist.
