FINAL (3/15): URI 4-0 George Mason
The University of Rhode Island tennis capped off their spring break with a 4-0 win over George Mason University on Friday. The Rams are now on a nine-match win streak after picking up two wins on back-to-back days. They got their first A-10 victory with a 4-3 victory over Georgetown University on Tuesday, March 12, while also getting a 6-1 win over Mount Saint Mary’s University on Wednesday, March 13. In Friday’s match against George Mason, the doubles pair of fourth-year Valentina Cvackova and second-year Sophie Herrman got a 6-0 win. Additionally, the pairing of fifth-year Nadia Rajan and second-year Nikki Fernando won their doubles match with a score of 6-3 to bring home the doubles point for Rhode Island. Herrman, (6-4, 6-0) Fernando, (6-3, 6-1) and Rajan (6-3, 6-2) also earned wins in singles play to secure the win. The match ended quickly as the rest of the singles matches did not finish. URI baseball took a trip up to Friedman Field on Friday to take on the Northeastern University Huskies. The game started with the Huskies putting up crooked numbers in the first and fourth innings. They scored five in the first inning, adding one more in both the second and third and then putting up a seven spot in the fourth to give them a 14-1 lead. Northeastern would go on to win by a score of 15-1. The series shifted back to Bill Beck field the next day for a Saturday doubleheader. URI flipped the script from game one of the series, holding the Huskies to only one run. Second-year Evan Maloney got the start, going seven innings while striking out six. In the second game of the day, URI was holding onto a 9-6 lead going into the top of the seventh inning. However, redshirt second-year H arrison Feinberg erased it in one swing with a two out, three-run homer to tie the game at 9-9. Northeastern got two RBI singles from second-year Jack Goodman and third-year Justin Bosland in the eighth inning to take a 11-9 lead, which was ultimately the final score. SOFTBALL
FINAL (3/16): Fordham 3-0 URI

FINAL (3/17): Fordham 6-0 URI
URI Softball kicked off a three game-series versus Fordham University with a Saturday doubleheader. Third-year Katie Zaun and second-year Ashley Hibbard held it down in the circle, only giving up three runs in the first game. Rhody wasn’t able to give any run support, however, as they got shutout in game one. In game two, Rhody was down 2-1 going into the fifth inning but a two-run double by third-year Leiyln Alveraz put URI in front by one. Second-year Kylie Bulinski would notch a single to bring home Alveraz to make the score 4-2 Rhode Island, which would end up being the final. In the final game of the series, the Rhode Island bats would go silent again, as they only got three hits and no runs – the seventh time URI has been shutout in 21 games. Fordham scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the third, three more in the fourth and one more in the sixth to make the final 6-0.
