Throughout the week of Sept. 15, the University of Rhode Island Police Department reported 12 medical emergencies. 11 of the emergencies required transportation to the hospital and one required an escort.
On Saturday, an erratic driver was reported on Route 138 at 9:28 a.m. The police were not able to locate the driver after the report.
On the same day, a suspicious person was reported on Lippitt Road at 8:03 p.m., resulting in no action. At 9:01 p.m., suspicious activity was also reported on Lippitt Road. Police arrived on the scene at 9:04 p.m. and the scene was cleared at 9:45 p.m.
Five motor vehicle accidents were reported this week. Two accidents occurred on Sept. 15, one on Keaney Road and one on Complex Road. One accident occurred on Sept. 17 on Lower College Road, one occurred on Sept. 18 at Fraternity Circle and one occurred on Sept. 19 on Keaney Road.
On Friday, a motor vehicle stop resulted in an arrest on Butterfield Road. Police arrived at 12:03 a.m. and cleared the scene at 12:48 a.m. The driver was charged with driving with a suspended license on the fourth offense.
Over the course of the week, the police department reported 32 motor vehicle stops in the URI area. 18 of the stops resulted in verbal warnings, 11 resulted in citations or warnings issued and one vehicle was towed.
