Second-year forward Lauren MacDonald found the back of the net in just the third minute of Thursday night’s game, capitalizing on a Bonnies error. The tying goal by the Bonnies came in the 17th minute. Despite Rhody leading in shots 23-2, the Bonnies’ second shot of the game resulted in the go-ahead goal with under 16 minutes left to play. Sunday afternoon’s Senior Day matchup saw another lead in shots for URI against their opponent, 21-7, yet couldn’t earn the win. SJU’s 3rd minute goal was countered by a fourth-year forward Sam Hagerty volley in the back of the net to tie it. For more on this story, check out Gerard Villemenay’s article (rhodycigar.com).

The scoring started in the second quarter when second-year linebacker Moses Meus blocked a punt and recovered for a safety. The Rams and Wildcats traded field goals before URI’s special teams scoring continued with first-year defensive back Freddie Camp taking advantage of a muffed punt return and recovering the ball in the endzone for the game’s first touchdown. A drive that started at Rhody’s 15-yard line ended in a 57-yard touchdown to put the Rams up 19-3 at the end of the third quarter.
