A 19-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting on Butterfield Road at Hopkins Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 12. Officers arrived at the scene at 9:37 p.m. and cleared the scene by 9:43 p.m. The man was arrested on a warrant issued by the Narragansett Police Department on Oct. 31.
On Friday, a routine motor vehicle stop turned into an investigation of suspicious activity. The stop occurred on West Independence Way at 12:25 p.m. Three officers were dispatched to the scene, which was cleared at 1:01 p.m. The activity was reported to be possible narcotics activity, however it was non-student related and no arrests were made.
An investigation was referred to the Office of Community Standards for a scooter reported stolen on Butterfield Road at Hopkins Hall on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Earlier that day, at Barlow Hall, a well being check was issued for a resident. Officers arrived on the scene at 5:54 p.m. and cleared the scene by 6 p.m. The incident was reported as a mental health investigation and no one was transported to the hospital.
