Over the past two weeks the University of Rhode Island Police responded to 19 medical emergencies and eight motor vehicle accidents, even as students left campus for Thanksgiving break.
An arrest warrant was served to a 21-year-old man on Thursday, Nov. 21 on Complex Road. The warrant was served by the North Kingstown Police Department for a shoplifting offence from Oct. 21. Two officers arrived at the scene at 5:25 p.m. and cleared the scene by 5:57 p.m.
Five well being checks were issued over the past two weeks. The first occurred on Sunday, Nov. 17 at Heathman Hall on Butterfield Road. Officers arrived on the scene at 1:32 p.m. and cleared the scene by 1:40 p.m. Later that day, police were called to W Alton Jones Campus for a report of suspicious activity at 7:19 p.m.
Five officers responded to a medical emergency at Peck Hall on Butterfield Road on Sunday, Nov. 24. The first two officers arrived on the scene at 12:16 a.m., followed by three more officers at 12:22 a.m. The scene was cleared at 1:38 a.m. and the injured party was transported to the hospital.
Property damage was reported on Tuesday, Nov. 26 on Complex Road at 1:40 p.m.
