The Good 5 Cent Cigar meets every Monday at 6 p.m. in the University of Rhode Island Memorial Student Union, Room 125. At each meeting, members of the Editorial Board pitch stories that are welcome to be written by anyone who attends – regardless of a student’s major, year of study, or experience in journalism. We also offer newscast and photography opportunities to all students.
All members begin as contributing reporters for our paper and can become editors at the end of each semester when we hold elections. To learn more about these positions, please join us on Monday nights!
No prior experience in any field is needed. Come prepared with just yourself – that’s it!
Individuals interested in writing, photography, video or art for the Cigar must be a student at URI.
