At 9:06 p.m. there was a report of a suspicious person on Lower College Road. However, when the police arrived, the person was gone.
At 5:34 p.m. harassment was reported at Hillside Hall on Campus Avenue. There was a high school student harassing a URI student over text messages.
Thursday, Oct. 26
At 12:34 a.m. vandalism was reported at Fayerweather Hall on Complex Road. The call was for a smashed light bulb; assistance was rendered.
At 2:25 a.m. there was a medical emergency at Hillside Hall. Medical assistance was needed for alcohol abuse. The occurrence is being investigated.
At 11:08 a.m. there was an animal complaint at Butterfield Road because a lost dog was found. Assistance was needed.
At 1:58 p.m. there was a sex offense reported at Eddy Hall on Complex Road. No information can be given at this time.
Friday, oct. 27
At 5:27 a.m. there was another medical emergency called in. This time, at Fayerweather Hall. Transportation to the hospital was needed.
At 12:38 p.m. larceny was reported at the library due to a stolen laptop; a report was filed.
Saturday, Oct. 28
At 3:03 a.m. there was an open door at Keaney Complex. The building was checked and secured by URI police.
Sunday, Oct. 29
At 3:45 a.m. a fire alarm went off at Wiley Hall on Flagg Road. Someone had pulled the fire alarm with no fire. The police do not know who it was, but a report was filed.
At 10:45 a.m. harassment was reported at Merrow Hall on Butterfield Road. Apparently, someone was being harassed over text message from an unknown person. This is currently being investigated.
Monday, Oct. 30
At 9:23 a.m. there was property damaged on Butterfield Road. A skateboard had hit a car and scraped it. A report was filed.
At 8:51 p.m. there was another report of larceny at the library due to a stolen laptop. URI Police would like to stress how important it is that no one leaves their laptop unattended, even for a short period of time.
Tuesday, Oct. 31
At 12:50 p.m. there was a hit and run at Merrow hall. A report was filed.
At 7:53 p.m. there was a motor vehicle stop on Plains Road. The driver had ran a stop sign. Arrests were made.
At 10:23 p.m. there was another report of larceny at the library. A laptop was stolen and a report was filed.
Wednesday, November 1
At 1:59 a.m. there was a motor vehicle stop on Campus Avenue and Lower College Road. A verbal warning was given.
