Police Beat 3/25 – 3/31

On Monday, March 25 there were two alarms on campus. The first was at the Robert L. Carothers Library, and the second was at the Fine Arts Center . Both alarms were quickly tended to and were deemed to be false alarms. The rest of the day was quiet and filled with various building and lot checks.

On Wednesday, March 27 there were two calls for suspicious people. The first was at the University of Rhode Island bus circle on Lower College Road. The police were called at 12:33 p.m., and the individual was gone when they arrived. The scene was cleared by 12:46 p.m. The second report was at 1:35 p.m. at the Memorial Union. The report was deemed to be unfounded and the scene was cleared at 1:50 p.m.

On Thursday, March 28 there was a car accident in the Fine Arts Center parking lot at 1:12 p.m. A report was filed and the scene was cleared by 1:40 p.m.

On Friday, March 29 there was a case of vandalism at Hillside Hall. The police were called at 7:30 a.m. and they filed a report by 8:20 a.m.

Saturday, March 30 was very quiet for the URI police. The day was filled with more lots and building checks.

On Sunday, March 31 there was a disturbance in Eddy Hall at 9:42 p.m. Multiple officers arrived at the scene to assist. The scene was cleared under 20 minutes later at 10:06 p.m.
