Police Beat Nov 16th- Nov 29th

Thursday, Nov. 16:

At 9:54 p.m. a complaint was filed at Lower College Road. Apparently, some kids were on the RIPTA bus and started to get too rowdy. The bus driver called the police to get the students removed.

At 9:45 p.m. there was a motor vehicle stop at Plains Road. The driver was let off with a verbal warning.

Friday, Nov. 17:

At 9:29 a.m. there was report of a burglar on Upper College Road. However, no action from the URI Police Department was necessary.

At 12:31 p.m. a larceny report at Keaney was called into the station. Approximately, four minutes later, the police arrived and discovered a laptop was stolen.

Saturday, Nov. 18:

At 3:25 a.m. there was a medical emergency at Browning Hall on Butterfield Road.  The URI police arrived nearly five minutes later, then the person had to be transported to the hospital.

At 6:32 p.m. a vehicle alarm went off in the Tucker House lot. When the police arrived that minute, there was no action required.

Sunday, Nov. 19

At 12:36 a.m. there was a call to assist a citizen at the Chemistry building on Flagg Road. There were mice loose in a classroom and the police had to assist.

Monday, Nov. 20

At 8:12 a.m. a hazardous condition was reported at East Alumni Ave. Allegedly, someone had taken a pin out of the crane used for construction. That piece of equipment was needed in the crane and it became dangerous without it.  

At 6:40 p.m. a call was placed to the URI police department in worry of harassment. When the police arrived, the person who made the report was gone.

Tuesday, Nov. 21

At 12:17 a.m. a fire alarm went off at Bressler Hall on Campus Avenue. This was due to an aerosol can.

At 12:56 a.m. another fire alarm went off in Bressler Hall.

At 6:28 p.m. there was a complaint made to the URI police at the Weldin Hall parking lot. There was a drunk male that was cause for concern.

Wednesday, Nov. 22

At 2:53 p.m. at Fayerweather Hall on Complex Road, a drug offense was reported. A bong was found during the fire inspections.

At 3:55 p.m. there was another drug offense report, this time in Barlow Hall.

Thursday, Nov. 23

At 8:36 a.m. an alarm went off at the Memorial Union. The building was checked and secured by URI police.

Friday, Nov. 24

At 2:22 p.m. an alarm went off in the Library to test the system.

Saturday, Nov. 25

At 9:39 p.m. a suspicious persons report was filed at Barlow Hall. However, when the police arrived, the person who made the claim was not found.

Sunday, Nov. 26

At 9:49 there was a suspicious persons report at Campus Avenue. When the URI police arrived the person was not found.

Monday, Nov. 27

At 12:09 there was an animal complaint at 138 at Peckham. Cows got loose and the URI police had to keep them away from the road.

Tuesday, Nov. 28

At 1:26 p.m. a laptop was stolen from the Library

At 7:29 p.m. there was a bomb threat reported at the Ryans Center. During the live stream, someone had typed out that there was a bomb in the locker room. Nothing was found.

At 10:19 p.m. there was a vehicle vandalised at Peck Hall. A report was filed.
