Police Beat: 11/30 to 12/5

Thursday, Nov. 30:  

At 11:53 a.m. there was a property damage complaint on Rodman Road. One of the gates was damaged; a report was filed.

At 11:54 a.m. harassment was reported at Briar Lane. Someone was receiving suspicious phone calls, they were not threatening but a report was filed.

At 3:30 p.m. there was a motor vehicle accident on Flagg Road. A vehicle rear ended another vehicle.

At 10:58 p.m. a complaint at Fayerweather Hall was called in to the URI police. It turned out that someone was just locked out.

Friday, Dec. 1:

At 4:07 a.m. there was an open door at the CBLS building. However, the building was checked and then secured.

At 6:59 a.m. a fire alarm went off at the Alpha Phi sorority house on Lower College Road. It was only a false alarm.

At 10:51 a.m. a call was placed to the URI Police Department because of a suspicious person on Butterfield Road. Apparently, there was an unwanted male at the gym. The police were called to remove the man from the gym.

Saturday, Dec. 2:

At 1:20 a.m. there was a drug offense at Browning Hall on Butterfield Road. Someone smelled marijuana and made the call to the police; nothing was found.

At 10:01 p.m. alcohol misuse at Browning Hall was reported to the URI police. Apparently, there were kids drinking in the hallway and when they knew the police were coming they left.

At 11:35 p.m. a fire alarm went off at the URI Gateway Apartments because of burnt food. The fire was extinguished.

Sunday, Dec. 3:

At 11:21 a.m. an alarm went off at Dining Services on Tootell Road. An employee accidentally set off the alarm.

Monday, Dec. 4:

At 3:51 p.m. there was yet another laptop stolen from the Library.

At 11:41 p.m. there was a vehicle vandalised on Keaney Road. The car was keyed.  

Tuesday, Dec. 5:

At 4:31 p.m. a complaint was filed from the Women’s Center on Upper College Road to the URI police. Supposedly, there was someone saying they worked at the Women’s Center who did not.
