Police Beat 12/19/2017 – 01/17-2018

Dec. 19, 2017

7:46 p.m. police were notified of a potential burglary when an alarm went off on Upper College Road. The scene was cleared within a few minutes and police found no evidence of a perpetrator.

Dec. 20, 2017

11:14 a.m. a vehicle was found vandalized in the Dairy Barn Lot on West Alumni Avenue. In what turned out to be a hit and run, police were unable to identify the person behind the attack.

Jan. 9, 2018

8:05 p.m. suspicious persons were seen sitting in a vehicle in the Flagg Road Parking Lot. Police investigated the area and no action was required. One can only imagine the crimes that could have been committed in that car. Remember kids: if you see something, say something.

Jan. 11, 2018

8:28 p.m. a medical emergency was reported when a student fell on ice in front of the Gateway Apartments. She was eventually transported to the hospital to be taken care of.

Jan. 17, 2018

12:25 p.m. police were notified of property damage when a suspect reportedly drove through one of the many gates on campus. The suspect escaped the scene and has everybody asking: “when and where will the notorious gate driver strike again?”

Jan. 24, 2018

3:52 p.m. police reported to Burnside Hall on Butterfield Road in response to a drug offense. Reports were filed, fines were issued, and the police “carefully disposed of the substances.”

7:33 p.m. an alarm went off at East Hall, notifying the authorities of a possible burglary. It did however, turn out to be a false alarm, so don’t fret; no pens or pencils were stolen that night.

Jan. 26, 2018

12:39 a.m. a motor vehicle was pulled over on Butterfield Road in front of Butterfield Dining Hall. Files were charged not only for speeding, but for marijuana possession in the past.

11:37 p.m. police reported to Fayerweather Hall in response to the smell of marijuana.
