Police Beat, Jan. 31 – Feb. 4

Jan. 31, 2018

12:42 p.m. police responded to a smell of gas in Morrill Hall on Lower College Road. It may have been caused by a possible sewer problem, but there was no action required for the police.

4:49 p.m. there was a hit and run on Lower College Road. A report was filed but no one had seen the person responsible for it.

Feb. 1, 2018

4:44 a.m. yet another girl, this time in Aldrich Hall, had to be transported to the hospital for intoxication.

5:54 p.m. a phone was stolen on Lower College Road. It ended up being returned to its rightful owner, only it was in much worse condition than when it was taken.

Feb. 2, 2018

1:55 p.m. there was a minor motor vehicle accident on Briar Lane. It turned out only to be a rear end.

3:39 p.m. there was a disturbance on a bus while on Lower College Road. No files were reported however, as the person eventually calmed down.

Feb. 3, 2018

1:44 a.m. a missing person was reported on campus as she was not where she was expected to be. She turned out to simply be with a friend.

8:43 p.m. a student fell out of her bed and was experiencing pain in her arm. She was transported to the hospital to find out if it was broken.

Feb. 4, 2018

1:14 a.m. arrests were made in Gorham Hall due to a drug offense. The charges included possession of an alcoholic beverage by an underage person.

10:31 p.m. a fire alarm was pulled in Eddy Hall in response to a trash can fire, which was most likely the product of the Patriots Super Bowl loss.

10:50 p.m. two students were charged with disorderly conduct, simple assault and resisting legal or illegal arrest. One was arrested and the other escaped into the crowd.

11:57 p.m. a dumpster was set on fire in the sophomore slums. It was quickly extinguished.
