Tomorrow by Together, TXT for short, released their fifth mini albumThe Name Chapter: Temptation,” on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023. This title follows the chapter theme previously given to the first four mini albums, with this one being named Temptation.

The albums before this one following the chapter theme title starts with their first mini album “The Dream Chapter: Star,” their first full-length album “The Dream Chapter: Magic,” their second mini album “The Dream Chapter: Eternity,” their second full-length album “The Chaos Chapter: Freeze” and their repackage album “The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape.”

This album features five new songs and was one of my favorites from them. After their last album and title track “Good Boys Gone Bad,” I didn’t know if this album would top their previous one. Their previous album was a bit more rock and gothic, whereas this mini album was more alternative pop. The physical version of the album also sold over 1 million copies on the first day.

TXT made their debut on March 4, 2019 with their first EP titled “The Dream Chapter: Star.” This album peaked at number 1 on the Gaon Album Chart (Korean based chart) and Billboard world albums chart. It also was number 140 on the US Billboard 200, making it the highest-charting debut album by any male K-pop group during the time.

Since then, the band consisting of five members, Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun and HueningKai, have been consistently putting out music and have gained global recognition and popularity, especially in America. Their music is more alternative rock/pop-punk making them a very unique band.

The band name was given to them by their labels founder and chairman of Big Hit Music and Hybe Corporation Bang Si-Hyuk. According to Soobin from an interview called “Showterview with Jessi,” the name means you and me coming together under one dream in hopes of building a better tomorrow. Their fandom name, MOA, means “Moments of Alwaysness,” which further means moments in which the band and their fans are together.

None of the members have set positions in the group as most K-pop groups do such as Vocalist, Dancer and Rapper. However, the only member with a position is Soobin, who is the leader of the group. This also adds distinctive elements to the band and their popularity because all five members are recognized as powerful vocalists, dancers and rappers.

They have also gained a lot of popularity and followers on TikTok, having a total of 19.6 million followers. They make comedic videos for their fans and other people on TikTok, as well as doing dance covers of other K-Pop songs and Western Pop songs too.

Now, onto the review.

“Farewell Neverland” was my favorite song off of this album. It was just so pure and charming listening to the lyrics, even though I don’t speak or understand Korean, and hearing all of their voices blend so well together. This song gave me summer car ride vibes driving down to the beach with the windows down not having a care in the world. It made me feel really happy and it sounded like a song that would be in a live action version of “Peter Pan.”

“Devil By the Window” was my second favorite from the album because of the more alternative rock sound and really catchy chorus. I actually head-banged to this song which wasn’t necessarily safe while driving, but it was a lot of fun to listen to and I really enjoyed the entire song. I would definitely love to see this song performed live at one of their concerts if they come back to America again for a tour.

“Happy Fools feat. Coi Leray” was such a happy and fun song. I really loved listening to it and I loved Coi’s rap in the song. Her voice really complimented and went well with TXT’s voices and vibe. This is a song that would be played at a party and it’s the type of song you jump around and dance too.

“Sugar Rush Ride” is the title track for this album and when the music video came out I was in a state of shock the entire time. The song and video kept on getting better and better and I was so impressed with their work and passion they put into this new album. The music video also got over 15 million views in the first 24 hours of being released.

“Tinnitus” is the last song and I really loved it. It had a very tropical sound and made me bop my head to it and shake my shoulders a little bit when I was listening to it. This song is really popular on TikTok because of the instrumental and people are creating dance routines for it as well.

TXT is an awesome band that I believe deserves a lot of love and a lot of recognition for their work and immense talent.
