The University of Rhode Island Police Department responded to a series of burglar alarms, made two arrests and assisted with multiple vehicle accidents throughout the week.

Police arrested a 19-year old man on Sept. 8 on Butterfield Road. The first officer arrived at 8 a.m., followed by another at 10:01 a.m. The man was charged with drug possession and officers cleared the scene by 1:10 p.m.

Police arrested a 23-year old man on Friday on Lower College Road. The man was arrested on trespassing, simple assault and obstructing an officer charges. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers responded to three motor vehicle accidents this week. All three accidents occurred on Flagg Road and were cleared within a half-hour.

Three of the five burglar alarms this week were false. A bicycle was reported stolen from Hillside Hall on Sept. 11.
