Football

FINAL (11/15): University of Rhode Island 45-13 University of Maine

Football traveled to take on Maine for its final road game of the season on Saturday. The Rams held a 28-7 lead by halftime and controlled the game throughout. Fifth-year running back Antwain Littleton Jr. rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns, while fifth-year running back Brendon Barrow added two more scores on the ground. Fourth-year quarterback Devin Farrell threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns as the 8-2 Rams won their fifth straight game.

The Rams moved within one game of securing the program’s first perfect Coastal Athletic Association season and have not lost a league game since 2024. For more, visit Abby LePage’s article.

Men’s Basketball

FINAL (11/14): URI 80-61 University at Albany

FINAL (11/18): URI 86-77 Yale University

Rhode Island had a dominant 80-61 win over the Great Danes on Friday night at the Ryan Center. After a slow start where the Rams fell behind by nine points seven minutes into the game, the Rams wore down the Great Danes, turning 16 Albany miscues into a 21-11 edge in points off turnovers.

Rhode Island had its first true road game of the season on Tuesday night, facing off against Yale. Rhode Island trailed 46-40 after the first half, then Yale built its lead to as many as 10 points early in the second half, but Rhode Island stormed back to get the win. Women’s Basketball

FINAL (11/13): Rutgers University 68-63 URI

FINAL (11/15): URI 64-52 UAlbany

FINAL (11/19): URI 73-59 College of the Holy Cross

Rhode Island opened its busy week with its first loss of the season, which was on the road to Rutgers on Thursday, Nov. 13. Rhody was down 11 points in the third quarter, but kept making pushes to try and take the lead. The Rams managed to make it a one-possession game in the final minute on a fourth-year guard Brooklyn Gray three-pointer with 1:11 to go. However, URI was unable to make a final push, and Rutgers took the win.

Rhode Island got back into the win column with a home victory against UAlbany on Saturday, remaining undefeated at home this season. The game was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams. Rhody was up 26-23 at halftime, and the game remained close in the second half until the Rams stepped it up late to turn a one-point game into a 12-point victory.

Rhode Island extended its home winning streak with a victory against Holy Cross on Wednesday. The game had a back-and-forth first period that featured four ties and three lead changes; the teams were never separated by more than four points. The Rhode Island defense stepped it up in the second quarter, as Rhody was up 31-23 at halftime. The game was dominated by the Rams the rest of the way in a 14-point victory. Volleyball

FINAL (11/14): University of Dayton 3-0 URI

FINAL (11/15): Dayton 3-0 URI

Volleyball concluded its season over the weekend, dropping both matches in a two-match sweep to Dayton and an unfortunate ending for the seniors in Saturday’s senior day match. The Rams were unable to take a set across the two days of play. Second-year Ryleigh Powers led Rhode Island with seven kills and no errors in 14 attacks. The team finished the season with four straight losses, finishing with an overall record of 5-25 on the season. For more, visit Michael Sormanti’s article.

Men’s Cross Country

NCAA Regional Championship (11/14): 18th out of 38 teams

Rhode Island concluded its season on Friday with its best finish in program history at the NCAA Regional Championship. Third-year Nick Martin led the Rams, finishing 40th out of 264 runners with a time of 30:23.7, the best finish by any Rhode Island athlete in the meet’s history. Women’s Cross Country

NCAA Regional Championship (11/14): 29th out of 37 teams

Rhode Island wrapped up its season on Friday. Fourth-year Lily Saul led Rhode Island at the NCAA Regional Championship, placing 85th out of 251 runners with a time of 21:23.4. The Rams finished 29th as a team, with second-years Alison Pankowicz and Gwen McCloughan setting personal bests for a six-kilometer race. For more, visit Carlos Pinto’s article.
