The University of Rhode Island Police Department responded to 12 medical emergencies and assisted with motor vehicle accidents over the last full week of classes.

On Tuesday, Dec. 2, police responded to four medical emergencies, all ending in trips to the hospital. An incident at Tucker Hall is being investigated for potential alcohol involvement.

On Wednesday, Dec. 3, police towed a car from outside Butterfield Dining Hall after performing a traffic stop. Police also transported a patient from URI’s Health Services to the hospital.

Police were called to Tucker Hall to assist with an allergic reaction, which resulted in transportation to the hospital, on Thursday, Dec. 4. Police also transported someone from Hillside Hall to the hospital.

On Thursday, Dec. 4 the URI Police Department was called to assist the South Kingstown Police Department with locating a missing person on Old North Road. URI officers were on scene for just under two hours.

Police towed a car from the intersection of Complex and Butterfield Road on Friday, Dec. 5.

On Saturday, Dec. 6, police also responded to a two-car accident in the Keaney Parking Lot. No injuries were reported.

Police also responded to three medical emergencies on Saturday, all ending in trips to the hospital.

On Sunday, Dec. 7, police transported a patient from Dorr Hall to the hospital after reported abdominal pain. Police took a second patient from Weldin Hall for treatment for an asthma attack.
