After a long three weeks of MLB’s postseason, the World Series has finally come.
Many baseball fans out there did not want the Los Angeles Dodgers to be in the World Series for a third straight year, and they got what they wanted. The 2026 World Series will be between the American League’s Tampa Bay Rays and the National League’s Milwaukee Brewers.
Both teams are among five teams that have never won a World Series title, and they also both happen to have some of the smallest payrolls in MLB.
Tampa’s payroll this year ranked 28th in the league at $95.6 million. Milwaukee’s payroll is $146.2 million, ranking 19th in the league, according to Spotrac.com.
Yandy Diaz, Junior Caminero and Freddy Peralta will face off against Jake Bauers, William Contreras and Jacob Misiorowski in what should be an extremely fun World Series.
This World Series already has many interesting facts, especially that both Championship Series MVPs happened to play for both teams at one point in their careers.
Freddy Peralta, who was acquired by the Rays at the trade deadline in August from the New York Mets, has turned his season around with Tampa and was awarded ALCS MVP on Monday night.
Jake Bauers, who started his MLB career with the Rays in 2018, has been on a postseason tear in 2026 with the Milwaukee Brewers and took home the NLCS MVP.
Both ace pitchers Drew Rasmussen and Jacob Misiorowski will go the distance for their teams. I think that the Brewers will win this series in seven games.
From the very beginning of the season to now, Milwaukee has not slowed down once. Having the best record in baseball, they played well and came from behind in game two against the San Diego Padres.
With the Brewers’ shocking sweep against the favored Dodgers, I have full confidence that they will win this series, and there is no reason why they shouldn’t.
However, with the crop of Yandy Diaz, Junior Caminero, Chandler Simpson and Jonny DeLuca firing on all cylinders, I think Tampa will be Milwaukee’s toughest series yet.
The top of both teams’ rotations are really strong, and I think the teams will split the first two games. Tampa will win the first game, and Milwaukee will win the second game.
With the threat of no baseball season next year, I think that the Brewers will be the last champion until the lockout begins this winter and we don’t play baseball again until 2028.
