Cookies are a very easy and very simple treat to make. They can also come in so many different flavors and they are one of the most famous desserts ever.
Cookies can be so diverse with their flavors, especially what you put in them. I personally love a traditional chocolate chip cookie, but I also love a double chocolate chip cookie too.
I love baking for my friends and family, so I always make cookies for them whenever I can. I actually have never made cookies from scratch before, but I really want to. I go the easy route and get the box/bag power mix of cookies to which I only need to add softened butter and an egg, most of the time.
A secret trick that I like to do, although it may be a very common thing to do, is add chocolate chips to the tops of the cookie dough balls on the baking sheet before I throw them in the oven. This way, there will be chocolate chips on top of the cookie and inside the cookie as well.
I find the whole baking process of a cookie so interesting because it’s literally a ball of butter and flour just melting down into a flat circle. And it tastes so good.
I like my cookies crunchy on the outside and soft/gooey in the middle. I like my cookies to have chocolate in every bite. I cannot stand when a cookie is hard and crunchy all throughout. I’m not trying to chip a tooth on a cookie.
I will say that some of the box mixes of cookies that I’ve made have resulted in a hard crunchy cookie which makes no sense to me. I follow the instructions perfectly and it says the cookie should be how I like it.
Anyway, that’s enough of that.
There are a bunch of places to get cookies from, and some of them have great cookies, others do not.
Insomnia Cookies is one of my favorite places to get cookies. They have a lot of great flavors and the cookies are always warm. I like getting the double chocolate cookie and the double chocolate mint cookie when I go there.
They also serve ice cream and brownies which are some of my other favorite treats to eat. I’ve never tried the ice cream or brownies at Insomnia before, but I know that they are probably amazing.
Crumbl Cookies is a recent addition to Rhode Island. It’s been around America for a little while before a location opened up in East Greenwich. My sister’s boyfriend got cookies for me and my family, and the flavors were…interesting.
Now, Crumbl’s cookies are bigger and thicker than Insomnia’s. They also change their flavors every week, which to me, is chaotic and unique. What if there is a cookie that I really like but can’t get anymore because it was only there for a week? Do I have to wait for countless weeks until that cookie comes back?
Also, their cookies are good, but a little too much for me. I like any size of cookies, but the size of these cookies is a little extra. Their chocolate chip cookies are really good, but some of the flavors that I’ve tried were not really good.
My favorite place to get cookies is a small store in Dublin, New Hampshire called “Dublin General Store.” Every year, my family goes on vacation to a place in New Hampshire and we drive to this store.
They sell everything that you would find normally in a general store, but they also sell sandwiches, deli, coffee and the most out of this world delicious cookies ever.
They are big cookies, and I know that I said that Crumbl’s cookies were too much for me, but that’s not the case when it comes to these cookies. My favorite cookie they sell is a molasses cookie that is topped with sanding sugar. It is the most delicious, softest, sweetest and divine thing I have ever tasted.
I truly wish that I could have that cookie every day of my life. I honestly would make the 3 hour drive to that store just to get that cookie. Unfortunately, they rotate their cookie flavors, and most of the time that one is not out for sale.
Cookies are delicious and perfect. They are the best treat to have for any occasion and I want to try some more flavors out there. However, if I mistake an oatmeal raisin cookie for a chocolate chip cookie again, I will start a riot.
