Police Beat: 3/18-3/25

On Monday, March 18, there was a reported disturbance in Bressler Hall. The police were called at 3:45 p.m. and arrived at the scene by 3:46 p.m. After 12 minutes, the report was filed for the disturbance and the police cleared the scene by 3:58 p.m.

On Tuesday, March 19, there were two car accidents, the first of them was at the Kingston Emporium and happened at 1:07 p.m. The scene took over 45 minutes to clear, and the report was filed by 1:58 p.m. The second accident occurred in the Memorial Union lot at 3:04 p.m. Police arrived around 10 minutes later, and the scene was cleared nearly an hour after it was called in. There was a hazardous condition at the Plains Road commuter lot that was called in at 6 p.m. The police arrived and took over half an hour to clear the scene.

On Wednesday, March 20, there was an incident of assault called at Adams Hall. The call to the police was made at 9:14 p.m. and the police arrived at the scene five minutes later. The case was investigated and the police left about two hours later at 11:10 p.m.

On Thursday, March 21, 73-year-old Wayne Brock was arrested in the Memorial Union on charges related to alcohol use. The call was made around 6 p.m. and Brock received a bench warrant from the superior court. The scene was cleared and police left at 7:32 p.m. Another unrelated arrest was made after a 19-year-old female was pulled over and charged with possession of false identification at 7:38 p.m.

On Friday, March 22, a 21-year-old male student was arrested on charges relating to disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault and battery at 5 p.m. in the Catholic Center on Chapel Way. The call claimed that there was a disturbance, and multiple individuals involved were sent to the hospital. The scene took over an hour to clear by officials. There was also a car accident in the Fine Arts Center lot at 11:26 a.m., and a report for the accident was filed two hours later at 1:13 p.m.

On Saturday, March 23, an 18-year-old male student was arrested for possession of an alcoholic beverage at 10:51 p.m. in Barlow Circle. The scene was cleared by 11:05 p.m. There was also a fire alarm at Coddington Hall. The police arrived at 2:10 a.m. and the situation was found to be alarm abuse. The scene was cleared 15 minutes later at 2:25 a.m.
