Police Beat 4/1 – 4/7

On Monday, April 1 there was a car accident at the Fine Arts Lot at 11:04 a.m. The police arrived and filed a report by 11:15 a.m. There was also a well being check called to Weldin Hall. The call was made at 10:32 a.m., and the police had arrived by 10:40 a.m. Assistance was given to the individual and the scene was cleared by 10:44 a.m.

On Tuesday, April 2 there was a car accident at the Lambda Chi Alpha house at 11:31 a.m. The scene took around 20 minutes to clear and a report was filed. There was a report of a suspicious person at the Coastal Institute at 1:55 p.m. The police arrived and filed a report over an hour later at 2:58 p.m.

On Thursday, April 4 a 26-year-old man was arrested on charges related to a previous warrant after a call for a disturbance was made to police at 2:22 p.m. on Lower College Road and Campus Avenue. The police cleared the scene by 3:50 p.m. A case of larceny occurred at the Robert L. Carothers Library at 2:44 p.m. The police arrived and assisted the situation and cleared the scene about an hour and a half later at 4:08 p.m.​​ There was also a car accident at the Plains Road commuter lot at 5:34 p.m. Police arrived at the scene and filed a report within 45 minutes.

On Friday, April 5 there were two car accidents, the first at 3:54 p.m., and the second at 5:18 p.m. Both were cleared within 30 minutes and reports were filed. There was an incident of harassment at Browning Hall called to the police at 12:47 p.m. Police arrived at the scene by 12:50 p.m. Assistance was rendered and the scene was cleared by 1:03 p.m.

On Saturday, April 6 a 22-year-old woman was arrested on charges of domestic violence, including simple assault, and/or battery, vandalism and disorderly conduct at 9:32 p.m. at Lower College Road and Campus Avenue. The police were at the scene for multiple hours, with the scene being finally cleared at 1:09 a.m. on April 7.

On Sunday, April 7 the police were called to assist a citizen at 5:44 p.m., and two 19-year-old men were arrested. Both arrests were made on charges of disorderly conduct, unlawful breaking and entering of a dwelling or house, and one of them was arrested on an additional charge of vandalism. The scene took nearly three hours to clear. There was also a case of harassment at Barlow Hall at 12:32 a.m. The police arrived quickly and filed a report for the case by 1 a.m.
