Throughout the week of Sept. 29, the University of Rhode Island Police Department responded to 20 medical emergencies, the most of any week since students returned to campus this semester. 16 of the medical responses resulted in transportation to the hospital, while the remaining four were transferred to other agencies.
This week, two arrests were made on charges of disorderly conduct. The first arrest occurred on Wednesday, Oct. 2, on Butterfield Road. Police arrived on the scene at 8:10 p.m. and the scene was cleared by 8:24 p.m. The second arrest occurred on Thursday, Oct. 3, at Fraternity Circle. Police arrived on the scene at 12:57 a.m. and it was cleared over an hour later at 2:01 a.m.
An arrest was also made on Tuesday, Oct. 1, after a report of a suspicious person on Upper College Road. Police arrived on the scene at 4:57 p.m. and did not clear the scene until 7:09 p.m. An arrest was made, however it was later expunged.
Also on Oct. 1, there was an incident of vehicle vandalism on Bills Road. Police arrived on the scene at 6:43 p.m. and cleared the scene at 7:06 p.m. On the same day, another report of vandalism occurred on Lower College Road — this time on a building. Police arrived on the scene at 1:13 p.m. and cleared the scene at 1:43 p.m.
