University of Rhode Island police responded to property damage, five vehicle accidents and seven reports of suspicious activity in the past week.

University police investigated three reports of suspicious activity on Thursday, Oct. 2. Police responded to a report on Upper College Road at 8:36 a.m and cleared the scene by noon. The second occurred outside Hopkins Hall on Butterfield Road and was cleared within minutes. The last incident occurred on Old North Road and was cleared within the hour. Police responded to two reports of suspicious activity on Sunday, Oct. 5. Both scenes were cleared without issue.

Police were called to investigate suspicious activity outside the URI Alumni Center, but arrived at an empty scene on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Police responded to a report of vandalism on the Quad on Wednesday, Oct. 1. Police also responded to a report of property damage at the URI Coastal Institute. Both incidents are being investigated.

University police assisted with five reports of motor vehicle accidents. On Tuesday, Sept. 30, police cleared an accident on Briar Lane. On Wednesday, Oct. 1, police investigated an accident on Flagg Road and were able to clear the scene. On Thursday, Oct. 2, police responded to an accident on Baird Hill Road.

The same day, police were called to an accident on Old North Road. No assistance was needed. Police responded to a call from the intersection of Plains Road and Route 138 but were unable to locate an accident when they arrived on the scene.
