The student senate Student Organization Committee plans to release an initiative, tentatively called Rhody Club Connect, to be a hub of information for new clubs.
Rhody Club Connect will be a resource for the over 120 senate-recognized organizations on the University of Rhode Island’s campus, according to Student Organizations Chair Jacob Milner. Milner plans for it to function alongside the uri.edu platform or within URInvolved.com.
“We are a government that works for the people,” Milner said. “We want things to be clear and easy.”
Milner and SOC member Andrew D’Aiello envision it as “a kind of Google Drive,” according to Milner. The initiative will house presentations, walkthroughs, FAQs and a shared calendar, according to Milner.
“It will have everything they need to know in one place,” Milner said.
The platform will streamline information for students to make clubs more independent, according to Milner. The Student Organization Committee, and the student senate as a whole, has back-and-forth communication with students and club leaders. Rhody Club Connect will give clubs the instructions to answer questions on their own.
