University of Rhode Island police arrested one person, investigated a breaking and entering incident and responded to three car accidents in the past week.
On Saturday, Nov. 15, university police responded to a report of a suspicious person. Joshua Joseph Paddy Boatey, 23, was arrested on a willful trespassing charge. This investigation is ongoing.
Police were called to Gorham Hall on Thursday, Nov. 13, after receiving a report of a suspicious person. This investigation is still ongoing.
On Tuesday, Nov. 11, police were called to Plains Road to deal with a two-car accident. No injuries were reported, though one of the cars was towed.
On Thursday, Nov. 13, police were called to the Keaney Parking Lot to investigate an accident involving two cars. No injuries were reported. Police were also called to Flagg Road to assist with another two-car accident. No injuries were reported.
University police responded to 13 medical emergencies, all resulting in trips to the hospital. On Monday, Nov. 10, police were called to a slip-and-fall incident on East Alumni Avenue. A medical event involving a minor happened inside the Butterfield Dining Hall on Friday, Nov. 14. On Sunday, Nov. 16, police transported two allegedly intoxicated persons to the hospital from Browning and Barlow Hall.
Also on Sunday, Nov. 16, police responded to a noise complaint at Bressler Hall. Upon arrival, police dispersed a large gathering over the next 30 minutes.
