Earth Day’s Goin’ Strong

URI is celebrating Earth Day on campus throughout April. Held around the world on April 22nd each year, Earth Day has grown since its inception in 1970 and is now a big deal in about 195 countries. It’s about celebrating the natural environment and the resources we depend on like clean air and water. It’s about raising awareness and promoting action. At URI, the Office of Sustainability, student groups, departments, staff, faculty and others are hosting events and activities. Here are some of the things you can do!


April
5 – Greek Life campus cleanup


10 (5:30 pm – 6:45 pm) – “Surfing for Change” – Guest speaker, Kyle Thiermann – Edwards Auditorium Sustainability @ URI
