Best Shows to Watch to Destress

In between studying and doing homework, or procrastinating from doing so, we often find ourselves turning to Netflix to watch our favorite shows. With many genres that include countless shows, there are so many new shows to be introduced to, so here are some of our favorites and most popular at the moment.

“Grey’s Anatomy” lovers oftentimes find themselves binge-watching their favorite episodes. I know of many people who say they would re-watch every season if they could, and the show is still ongoing!

Watching “Planet Earth” is especially ideal to relax after a long day. Taking in the different scenes of nature, the ocean and beautiful landscapes with animals will put you in a peaceful state of mind and take you away from all the stressors of life for a little while.

The “Office” and “Friends” are classic favorites people always find themselves going back to, especially to unwind after a long day. Unfortunately, “Friends” is leaving Netflix in 2020, but it will always be one we will continue watching.

While I personally have not watched this, many are fans of “Stranger Things.” People obsessed over this show for a while; it was all people talked about for months on end and many of my friends urged me to watch as well.

The second season of “The End of the F***ing World.” was recently released on Nov. 5. If you have not already watched the first season, I would highly recommend this show, and the second season is a must-see. I have only just started, but it is already intriguing and I am looking forward to finishing.

“Shameless” is also one I have recently started watching in my spare time and have grown to love. I find it to be extremely funny and something great to watch with friends. Something new is always happening and that’s what makes it exciting.

Some are into crime shows such as “Criminal Minds” or the documentary featuring Zac Efron playing Ted Bundy, “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile,” which the majority of girls, including myself were talking about watching.

“That 70s Show” is one I picked up last year and noticed some others have too, although it is not as popular. I find it to be funny and a great show to sit down and see with friends.

My personal go-to is “Black Mirror.” The different technological aspects incorporated into each episode and the story that goes along with them is fascinating and always makes me think of what technology could be like in the future. This has been my favorite for a while and I enjoy that every episode has a completely different storyline to go along with it, so you can skip around and watch your favorites.

So, if you’re looking for a new show to watch, take these into consideration after finishing all your work for the day and laying down to watch a show on Netflix. I as well as others would highly recommend these, and there are countless other movies and shows to watch by yourself or with friends.

There’s something for everyone in every genre, so find something new and go out of your comfort zone and see something you wouldn’t usually watch!
